A typical stay in Burgundy

As part of our typical stay at the Hameau des Champs campsite near Cluny, vacations start with Sunday arrival. Of course, it’s up to you to choose the day you want to arrive.

Day 1, Sunday: Discovering the campsite

Your day at the campsite begins with your arrival at 3pm, and the discovery of your rental or pitch. After settling in, there’s nothing like a refreshing dip in the pool to get you in thevacation mood.

Then it’s on to the special camping activities! Whether it’s a game of pétanque, ping-pong or basketball in the sunshine, there’s something for everyone.

As for the evening, it promises to be a convivial one, with an aperitif on the terrace. This is followed by a delicious meal to satisfy the appetite after a busy day.

Day 2, Monday: Discovering Cormatin

After a full breakfast, the day begins with a walk through the village of Cormatin. You’ll have the opportunity to discover the various shops in the village and the surrounding area.

In the early afternoon, the adventure continues with a visit to the Galerie Artisanale et Gourmande, with its 800m² of exhibitors. You’ll wander between the stands, immersing yourself in local craftsmanship and savoring the delights of local gastronomy.

Afterwards, explore the castle that sits majestically nearby. Here, you can explore the rich history that inhabits its walls, and stroll through the meticulously tended gardens offering breathtaking views.

Day 3, Tuesday: Discovering the vineyards

Start your day with a drive through the Mâconnais region, just 20 minutes from the campsite.

Head for Lugny, where a unique adventure awaits you.

Once you’ve arrived, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable experience as you ride an electric scooter through the vineyards, savoring a tasting tour in the heart of this enchanting viticultural landscape.

Visits to local wineries add an authentic touch to this getaway, allowing wine lovers to discover the secrets of winemaking.

For those traveling with families and young explorers, an enchanting option is to discover Hameau Duboeuf.

Located nearby, this is the first 30,000 m² theme park dedicated to vines and wine. With 5,000 m² of gardens and vineyards to explore, youngsters can immerse themselves in an educational and entertaining adventure, discovering the mysteries of the wine world in a fun and interactive way.

Day 4, Wednesday: Hiking and castle tour

The morning begins with a captivating tour of the region.

You’ll have the opportunity to visit Berzé-le-Châtel and its impressive fortress, immersing yourself in the history of this village while enjoying a panoramic view.

Then it’s on to Pierreclos, nestled in the heart of the vineyards, offering you a typical experience in the midst of wine-growing landscapes.

The morning ends in Saint-Point, where the poet Lamartine’s majestic Château awaits you for a journey back in time.

In the afternoon, the adventure continues with an epic hikeup the Roche de Solutré.

Outdoor enthusiasts can revel in the surrounding nature, breathing in the fresh air as they climb the trails to the summit.

Once up there, the reward is a breathtaking view, offering a spectacular panorama of the surrounding area.

Day 5, Thursday: Walk along the Voie Verte

For a relaxing day at the campsite, start the morning with a stroll along the voie verte towards Chalon-sur-Saône.

The drive along the Grosne river offers a serene experience, and as you follow the Chalonnais vineyards towards Buxy, nature lovers can revel in the picturesque wine-growing landscapes that surround them.

In the afternoon, relax by the pool.

Soak up the sun, go for a swim and enjoy a convivial aperitif accompanied by cocktails. For a gourmet touch, delicious waffles await you.

It’s the ideal opportunity to recover from the exertions of the morning walk.

Day 6, Friday: Cool off in the woods and caves

There’s nothing like a refreshing hike in the forest on a hot summer’s day, giving you the chance to discover the diversity of Burgundy’s wildlife. As the birds sing, the fleeting appearances of deer and the fluttering of squirrels add a magical touch to this adventure in the heart of the Chapaize forest.

The afternoon takes you underground to visit the caves of Blanot and Azé.

These natural prehistoric settings reveal fascinating geological wonders, while the preserved skeletons add a mystical dimension to the exploration. This underground outing offers an immersion in Burgundy’s prehistoric past.

Day 7, Saturday: Market day in Cluny

As the vacation season draws to a close, we’re planning a final getaway to the market town of Cluny, a 40-minute bike ride along the voie verte.

A must-see in the region, this market offers total immersion in the vibrant atmosphere of this medieval village. Stroll through the picturesque alleyways, admire the architecture, browse the shops and relax in the green parks.

A visit to the abbey and the Tour des Fromages completes this day of culture.

Back at the campsite, a refreshing dip in the pool is the perfect way to round off your vacation.

As the day draws to a close, discussions turn to the exciting project of a hot-air balloon ride planned for next year!
